Following the event, ABC News presenter and former foreign correspondent Jane Hutcheon shared her thoughts on the debate with the Lowy Institute's Rory Medcalf.

The debate was moderated by Dr Michael Fullilove, Executive Director of the Lowy institute. Questions were asked by a panel comprising Rory Medcalf from the Lowy Institute, Paul Kelly from The Australian and Jane Hutcheon from ABC TV.

On 1 August 2013 Sharon Burrow, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, presented the findings of the ITUC Global Poll 2013 to the Lowy Institute. Burrow also spoke about the effectiveness of the G20 and other multilateral institutions.

On 31 July 2013 the Minister Assisting the President from the Marshall Islands, Senator Tony de Brum, addressed a roundtable at the Lowy Institute. The topic: climate change. In this interview with the Institute's Melanesia Program Director, Jenny Hayward-Jones, Senator de Brum outlines the climate challenges facing his country and the steps being taken through the Pacific Islands Forum to combat the threat posed by climate change.
